2021 Scholarship Winners

Join us in congratulating our two 2021 “Swinging for Scholars” winners. Both will receive a $1500 scholarship to help them in their first year of college!

Alejandra Castellanos, a Bishop Noll grad!

Here’s something one of her teachers had to say about Alejandra!
Alejandra’s drive and organization are her greatest assets. She is a very active student at Bishop Noll. Along with another student, Alejandra founded the Women’s Empowerment Club that mentors both young women in our building as well as middle-school girls. All meetings, fundraisers, outreach, and communication are handled by Alejandra with grace and professionalism. She has also played a major role in Student Council Activities as well asCampus ministry’s Intercessory Prayer group and the RICHER program, all of which I sponsor.

Yareli Esquivel, a East Chicago Central grad!

Here’s something one of her teachers had to say about Yareli!
When it comes to her work ethic, Yareli ranks among the top students to ever walk the halls of Central. As her teacher, I tried to push all of my students to be their best. This involved giving much harder and much more frequent work than they had encountered in the past. Yareli never flinched and never slowed in her determination to understand the material. It is this determination that enabled her to not only perform well my engineering class but gain great grades in all of her classes. It is this same level of determination that will undoubtedly carry her through the rest of her education and her practice as an accountant.
